General Practice
Emphasis is placed on preventative medicine. Prevention is best
achieved via comprehensive annual exam, consultation and education, diagnostic testing,
therapy targeting parasitic diseases, and nutrition.
Internal Medicine
We manage many cases involving endocrinology, gastroenterology, liver
disease, kidney disease, neurology, oncology, and autoimmune disorders.
Emergency & Critical
Care
In-house laboratory, oxygen supplementation, blood products, and trained
veterinary staff are readily available to enable us to manage emergency situations.
Surgery
Elective surgeries, such as spay and neuters, and soft tissue surgeries are
performed in our surgery suite. The types of anesthesia administered include local
analgesia, sedatives, general anesthesia using Isoflurane, as well as injectable
anesthetic with reversal agent. Patients are monitored via esophageal stethoscope,
pulse oximeter, EKG, and Doppler blood pressure unit.
Dentistry
Deep cleaning via ultrasonic scaling and polish with or without general
anesthesia helps to prevent gingivitis, tooth loss, halitosis, and associated systemic
diseases.
Pain Management
The welfare of medical, surgical, and geriatric pets is always a
priority. The Duragesic patch, injectable opiates, and COX-2 anti-inflammatory drugs
are available to ensure their comfort.
Radiology
An in-house X-ray machine and an automatic processor permit immediate
viewing and diagnosis of radiographic findings. All radiographs are evaluated by a
board certified radiologist at no additional cost to our clients.
Dermatology
Our experience and knowledge allows us to manage skin disease varying from
infectious to allergic etiology.
Grooming
Baths, nail trims, anal gland expressions, ear cleanings, total body
shavings, and demattings are the grooming services provided by our expert staff. We
do not perform breed specific cuts, but wed be happy to recommend a groomer who
does.
Knowledge and Compassion
Our trained and experienced staff not only has the knowledge base to deal
with various illnesses, but the compassion to address the specific needs of individual
patients with gentle care.
Communication
Our knowledgeable staff welcomes your calls and is prepared to make
recommendations regarding the care of your pet. Furthermore, open communication is
encouraged while patients are receiving treatment or are hospitalized.
Vaccination Titre and
Vaccination Protocol
Not all pets need every vaccine. Not all pets require boosters on a
yearly basis. Blood tests (antibody titre) are now available to assess your
pets immunity against certain infectious diseases. Ask us about the
immunization protocol that best fits your pets lifestyle.
Vaccine Clinic
Low cost vaccinations are available on the premises every Thursday evening
from 6-8pm on a walk in basis.
Avian and Exotic Species
We treat birds, small mammals, and reptiles. In addition, we groom
birds.
Lodging
We board cats, small exotic mammals, and birds. In addition, we board dogs that
require medical care, are on prescription medications or have special needs that require
nursing care. If youd prefer to keep your pet at home, we can also recommend a
great petsitter.
Home Again Microchip
Each Home Again microchip contains a number unique to each pet. Your
address and phone number can be linked to this number by a 24-hour nationwide network
monitored by the AKC. It is inserted subcutaneously between your dog or cats
shoulder blades, thus identifying your pet permanently.
